Natalie Austin. Winner of the Wairarapa Secondary Schools Sportswoman of the Year 2018 and recipient of the Robert Algie Trust grant.
Natalie is excelling in Hockey and has a large number of achievements to her name. She has vast experience with the St Matthews 1st XI who are the school team currently ranked 10th in NZ from results at Federation Cup.
Natalie is a member of the 2018 Capital Under 18 Hockey team and the Capital National Hockey league team. She is a member of the Hockey New Zealand Under 18 Squad otherwise known as the Junior Black Sticks and in her role as goal keeper she is a Hockey New Zealand Identified Athlete for 2017 & 2018.
Natalie has been invited to train with the 2018 Black Sticks.
Alongside playing Hockey Natalie also gives a lot of her time in coaching the Hockey Wairarapa Under 13 and Under 15 Representative goal keepers. She also coaches St Matthews school keepers and strikers.
